The JOY of Education

Updated: Sep 29, 2024

“Tell me and I forget, teach me and I may remember, involve me and I learn.” - Benjamin Franklin reminds us that active participation is key to retention and deeper understanding.

Teaching children "language and literacies" is a fun and rewarding experience!

  • Use games that include vocabulary and phrases. Language learning apps and board games can make learning exciting.

  • Singing songs and reciting rhymes in the target language can help with pronunciation and memorization. Learners often enjoy repetitive and catchy tunes.

  • Read books or stories in the target language skill. Encourage kids to act out parts of the story or create their own stories.

  • Use flashcards, pictures, and videos to introduce new vocabulary. Visuals can help learners associate words with meanings.

  • Introduce learners to cultures associated with language, such as cooking traditional dishes, celebrating holidays, or learning about customs.

  • Encourage daily practice, even if just for a few minutes. Consistency helps reinforce learning.

  • Language-learning apps and online resources for kids can make learning interactive and appealing.

  • Encourage efforts and celebrate achievements, no matter how small. Positive reinforcement can boost motivation.

Have fun with the joy of education in a positive environment that promotes curiosity and learning enthusiasm!
